What is a Level 5 plaster finish?

Level 5 is the highest GIB finish, a full skim coat across the whole surface, not just the joints and screws. It removes the difference in texture between stopped areas and bare board, so under low-angle light and dark or gloss paint the wall reads perfectly flat. It's the finish to ask for when paint has nowhere to hide.

Do you do the painting as well, or just the plastering?

Can you repair cracks and patch damaged walls before repainting?
